My Story

Yoga Studio Etiquette

  1. Please arrive at least 5-10 minutes prior to the start of class.  This gives you time to check-in, put your items away, get your mat and any props set-up before practice begins.  You'll feel more relaxed and it minimizes distractions to your fellow students.  If you arrive before the studio doors are open, please wait outside as someone will be there shortly.
  2. The studio doors are locked 5-minutes after the start of class, out of respect for all of my students.  This allows me to give you my undivided attention and best nurture your yoga practice.
  3. Please remove your shoes (but feel free to keep your socks!) when you enter the studio and place them on either side of the front door.  We practice barefoot and this helps us keep the studio clean.
  4. Please turn off all devices or leave them on 'silent' with your belongings.  This practice is a chance to step away from all of your outside obligations.  I encourage you to take full advantage of this by making your time on the mat a "technology-free zone".
  5. Please avoid eating anything heavy at least 30-60 minutes prior to your class.  The yoga practice involves several postures that engage your core.  Eating something heavy or too close to class could negatively impact your ability to gain the full benefit of your practice.
  6. Clean-up after class.  Please wipe down and put away your mat and props (if borrowed), and remove any personal items you brought with you prior to leaving the studio.  This will help the space remain in good condition and ready for the next teacher and students.

I look forward to sharing this beautiful practice with you!
