My Story

Simplicity: Getting Back to the Essentials

For the past few months, I've been feeling a strong desire for less.  Less clutter, more grace & fewer moving parts.

This desire has led me to my word for 2017 - Simplicity.

I've only just begun my exploration into what it might look like to simplify my life.  Questions like - "What is most essential?" & "Can I make it simpler?" have been acting as a guide.

One decision I've made in order to simplify my life is moving my website back to Blogger.  I started my first blog several years ago and remembered a lightness and ease to working on this platform.  I'm learning that one thing that is essential for me, is to remove the barriers between creating and sharing my work.  I'm looking forward to reacquainting myself with my "old friend"!

I also decided to start the New Year off by working on a big canvas - a 30"x40" canvas.  This is well outside of my comfort zone.  While I'm feeling a bit intimidated it's also exciting!  It took me awhile to get up the courage to make the first marks due to fear of "messing-up".  Happily, I was able to push through it and above is a crop shot of the first layer.

I'm looking forward to more simplicity, ease, grace, & love in 2017.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and joining me in the journey!
